At least eight-rounds of funeral were held for slain Jaish-e-Muhammad commander (JeM), Noor Muhammad, as he was laid to rest in southern Kashmir’s Tral town.

Local sources said that a few militants appeared during the funeral who offered gun-salute to their slain commander. Three-feet high militant commander died fighting government forces in Samboora area of Pulwama in late night encounter. His body was recovered this morning from the gunfight site. The house, where Noor was staying, was completely destroyed as government forces used heavy ammunition to fight the militant commander. He was native of Darganaie Gund village of Aripal tehsil in Tral. Funeral prayers were held for Tantray at a local ground as mourners were pouring in from various parts of the town. Local sources said that all entry and exit points were sealed with barbed wires amid heavy deployment of government forces.
